Building a Science Fiction and Fantasy Website

Hey folks,

Just a bit of news from the Science Fiction and Fantasy author Richard Leon about New Gods of Mankind, Anointed and what is happening.

First off, My blogging habits will change. I will be blogging daily starting next Sunday on this website. I have a ton of ideas to discuss and I want to get the word out. New Gods of Mankind is here to stay. It is an awesome world, original and filled with ideas to adventure in.

Secondly, I just bought the domain Thebookgods.com This will be a place to sell indie science fiction and fantasy role-playing games, books and accessories. This will grow organically with the needs of the community. If you want to put your book for sale on Thebookgods.com let me know @ bhophix@gmail.com

Third, Salamanders of House Draax will be released next month. I will work on a 2nd edition of New Gods of Mankind which will release by end of year. I also plan to publish the first adventure Shipwrecked and Stranded some time in April. The campaign 2nd War of Leviathans will kick off soon with the Terrors of Kathonia. 🙂 The first and second edition rules will be able to work with any adventure.

Look for daily updates starting next Sunday 26th of February. For now I will be rebuilding and creating.

Lashon and Nassyx added to Creature Compendium

Hi folks,

I just wanted to stop in and inform you we added two more entries to the growing Creature Compendium database.

The nassyx resembles a large panther with greenish brown fur, bat-like ears, a long neck, and two mouths. The first mouth is where it should be—at the bottom of its face—and filled with the teeth of a predator. The second mouth is half-hidden in the fur of its throat. This mouth has no teeth, but a complex system of muscles, tendons, and cartilage that play the parts of teeth, lips, and tongue. This mouth is not for eating, but for speaking.

These massive, six-legged creatures stand three times as tall as a man, and twice as long. Their long, shaggy hair ranges in color from light brown to solid black, though legend tells of an albino lashon born into every generation. The broad necks of the lashon are set low in their shoulders, both so they can easily reach the ground to feed and to support the enormous antlers protruding from either side of their wide head.

New Novel and Creature Compendium

Greetings gamers and readers,

Today I will be announcing a couple of new projects for New Gods of Mankind.

First off I am announcing the initial draft of Shadows of the Leviathans, Book 2 of the World of Naalrinnon Series. This story will introduce new characters, and bring back some old friends and gods. Several spirits escape from the island of Kukulcan. These spirits, once members of Bphophix’s mission to colonize the planet suffered greatly for many years. Unlike Bphophix, they went insane and now seek to spread terror and madness throughout the World of Naalrinnon. Can Bphophix and the Elder Gods stop this new threat?

Second, I will be filling in a HUGE gap in the New Gods of Mankind Table-top RPG. I will be putting together a Creature Compendium with rules for New Gods of Mankind and Anointed in there. A description, artwork and stat block will be given in each entry. This website will be the best place to find new stats for anything and everything. Heroes, Gods and Leviathan stats will be included here in their own section. Look for daily entries.

Added The Fantasy Setting Fungal Gardens to The Celestial Gardens

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to give an update on the website. We are putting bits of lore in here all the time. With this large of a world, there will always be something extra we add in here. Check out the Fungal Gardens right here.

 

Cool thing is, this part of the Celestial Gardens is mentioned in Dragon Gods Rising, the first Fantasy novel for New Gods of Mankind. You can buy a copy in print on Lulu.com, Amazon, iTunes, Kobo, Barnes and Noble or Drivethru RPG.

Here is Chapter 27:

They moved south. Bphophix ignored every comment and stall. Elisna ducked her head and didn’t even make eye contact. Several offers came to their ears. There were many different booths selling all sorts of odd items, from celestial dirt, to wondrous fruits of the Orchard of Knowledge, Reason, and Madness. One Salamander offered nymph ears, sautéed or baked. A sylph cried out his famous lashon patties fresh from the fields of Naalgrom.

 

Bphophix, distracted by the catcalls, did not think to look down the road. A very solid object blocked his path. Bphophix ran head first into many folds of fat. He fell right on his backside.

 

A very plump looking Undine, with a strawberry red wig of Human hair, huge breasts, and strange smile stood in the middle of the alley. Her hands went right over to pick up Elisna. “Ah someone like her does not belong to you.” She picked up Elisna, with one quick scoop. Bphophix dropped low and kicked the being in the shins.

 

Elisna fell down and so did the strangely dressed Undine. The two sprites flew around Elisna’s head.

 

“You damaged me! You must pay for that!” the plump Undine shouted.

 

Bphophix glanced around noticing the brothels. He silently cursed his luck. This must be the Alley of Ills, and people will be looking to trade flesh.

 

He had no time for games.

 

“I’ll pay for the damage with your un-life, Undine! If you do not want me to take your soul and put it here, in my wineskin, you will back off and go play with someone else!”

 

“What a horrible bargain! You silly creatures deserve nothing but suffering. Endless suffering.”

 

Bphophix popped her in the head with a well-executed straight kick.

 

“I am a deadly weapon and I know how to make your existence very painful. The trade is fair.”

 

The Undine grumbled and slowly stood up.

 

Bphophix scooped up Elisna with one hand and put her on his shoulders once more. He created a huge power-walking gait. Quickly they moved through the smaller crowds.

 

The living made their way out of the alley. No one else cat called to them. No more offers were made. A growing sense of unease settled into the place.

 

Finally they made their way to an isolated, decorative stall.

 

Stretched over the wooden poles, a faded yellow canopy flapped slowly in the breeze. Wooden shelves open to the market stood displaying all sorts of items; toys, trinkets, and other small things one might find at a general store. Nothing specialized could be found here, but each item stood out as a fine piece of craftsmanship. A small building made of wood and stone sat behind the shop, just a few meters away. Smoke curled out of a stone chimney. Wooden mold covered tiles clung to the roof. A chubby black-furred sylph with small wings and a huge grin hobbled around on a cane. He wore a nice robe and a hat. A pipe hung out of his mouth lit, and he puffed at it on occasion. The smell of tobacco clung to the air around him.

 

Bphophix slowed his ferocious power walk. The alley, a fading memory several moments behind them.

 

“Welcome, welcome dear guests to my shop. My name is Viril. I hope you do have some time to browse my goods. Did you lose something?”

 

“Yes, I think I have. My sanity.” Bphophix retorted.

 

“Ha! I can recover this for a small fee. But I think you are being witty. You look like a man driven by certainty.”

 

“Hmm, very perceptive. So you know who I am then?”

 

“Oh the rumors have spread. I knew you would come and visit me. Everyone has visited me. Everyone. Even Fate.”

 

“So if this is a place for souls to stop in their journey to the afterlife, why are you still here?”

 

“Excellent question. I believe Fate and all of the gods found a place for merchants like me. It seems we are not so welcomed in other heavens. We tend to cling to old habits and no one wants to count money in heaven. So we have come here. This is our place. I happen to be one of the most successful merchants in the Great Bazaar.”

 

“Your booth is unimpressive. The only thing I find worthy of any type of consideration is your speech. Do you pretty up your goods with flowery words?”

 

“How else do you think I make a sale? And my best goods can be found in my house. Not out here. And I have my friend here who guards my booth in case you get sticky hands.”

 

A massive giant with four arms, three eyes, long blue shaggy hair, and a giant chest came from behind the house. It lumbered over and sat on a tree stump near the booth. It roared quickly then stared, menacingly, at Bphophix.

 

“That is Grunit, she protects my goods and helps around here. I am quite fond of her.”

 

“Well she should not be worried about any sticky fingers. We need your knowledge, not goods.”

 

“In due time, Captain. She even brews a nice cup of tea, if you would like.”

 

“No thanks. I don’t think I have ever met a giant on this world.”

 

“Really? They come in two varieties. Jurelian and Forest.”

 

“Another problem for another day. I need to know where Gotorro is.”

 

“Straight to the point. A flaw or quality of your personality. Very well, what do you have in trade for such information?”

 

“Knowledge.”

 

“Knowledge? Hmm, you are the originals. Not too many of you around. What could you possibly tell me that I would be interested in?”

 

“I can tell you about Old Earth. A place where all of these ideas originated from. Where humanity started, what you call Invaders.”

 

“Oh that is a juicy bit of knowledge. Wow. You must really value humanity.”

 

“Yes I do. Now I can only tell you stories in parts. I will tell you about what I remember from our history books. You might want to write it down.”

 

“Oh, well I have a fire on inside and tea. How about we sit down and I will get out a scroll. This will fetch a handsome price indeed. But you are only telling me the first part? Hmm, I want at least a millennia’s worth of information. One thousand years. Is that clear?”

 

“Ok Viril, and once I am done you will take me to Gotorro?”

 

“I will take you myself.”

 

Bphophix and Elisna along with the two sprites entered the small cottage house. Even the Jurelian woman giant somehow got inside. Everyone curled up on pillows or wooden chairs and listened.

 

Bphophix told the story of mankind’s first millennia of recorded history. Sumerians and their Bronze Age rivals battled mightily in the cradle of life. Empires rose and fell. The Egyptian reign of Akhenaten, the 18th Dynasty, finished his oral dissertation. Each point Bphophix made, Viril labeled. Several scrolls sat filled on a table nearby.

 

Viril finished writing his last entry, his handwriting furiously fast.

 

“Wow! I could not get such a bargain! That was several thousand years of early Human history. I hate going into debt with someone.”

 

“You just did. Now you will take me to Gotorro and help me free humanity.”

 

“Oh, that is such a difficult task. And I am not up to such a task as being a freedom fighter.”

 

“All I ask is you tell me of Gotorro and how to free my people.

 

“Gotorro is an unscrupulous money lender. He has muscle that he uses to enforce his rules. Somehow he made a deal with Fors. Now he has over fifty Gnome souls working for him that were once warriors, some even Stoneborn. He lords over all the other money lenders and he collects debts with his muscle, often by force.

 

His one weakness is for music. If you want to move his soul, you need someone who can sing.”

 

“Oh, Bphophix I can sing him my new song I made up! Plok and Flana know the tune, right?” Elisna smiled.

 

Both sprites nodded.

 

“Well I think we have something. Let us go see if we can free humanity.”

 

Bphophix and his group left Viril’s shop. The old pawnbroker led them through several side alleys into a place not quite on the beaten path. They crossed an old field filled with different types of mushrooms. The poor lighting of this place was good for fungi to grow. No one worked the fields. Many huts sat on either side of the large plot of land. It stretched over a hundred meters in every direction. They moved quickly towards a large house made of earth, shaped like half of a rounded cylinder with grass for a roof. A Gnome out front split logs with three other Gnomes looking around suspiciously. All of them turned their attention to the party crossing the field. A collective frown gathered like a storm on their faces.

 

“I think you are in the wrong place, Human. You are supposed to be dead first before coming to work the fields.”

 

“Gotorro, I take it?” Bphophix addressed the Gnome splitting logs made of mushroom stalks.

 

Beady deep blue eyes stared intently at them from his wirey, silver, full length beard. He leaned on his ax.

 

“I am just getting a bit of exercise. What do you need? And why, Viril, did you bring them here?”

 

“I owed them a debt.”

 

“That must be a large debt indeed to make you so brave.”

 

Bphophix spoke with a smile on his face. “I would like to propose a trade.”

 

“Oh, I just lend money. I have nothing else for sale.”

 

“But you do hold all of those Human souls correct?”

 

“Aye I do. But they are all huddled up in those shacks you see dotting the edge of the field. They just finished their morning shift.”

 

“I would like to propose a trade. All of their souls, and future souls that come here, for one song.”

 

“One song?”

 

“Elisna can sing this song for you. Once she does, you can capture it and keep it. In return I need to get every single soul out of here. They all come with me.”

 

“This must be an excellent song.”

 

“It is the first song sung by Humans since reincarnating on this world. It is something I helped to create. Now are you interested?”

 

Gotorro laid down his ax and crossed his arms. “Fine I will hear it.”

 

Elisna spoke, “This is a song about mankind.” Bphophix let her down from his shoulders. She cleared her throat. The two sprites landed on her shoulders.

 

Elisna sang. The lyrics spoke of humanity and their first appearance on this world. Then it turned dark, as humanity died out. But then she sung of Fate and the trickery involved in creating mankind once more. It spoke of the potential for Humans to reach the stars once more to visit old Earth.

 

Afterwards Gotorro thought in silence. The other Gnomes did not smile or frown.

 

“This is a beautiful song child. I agree, Bphophix. Your souls are free to follow you. Now child you cannot sing that song again as I now own the song.”

 

“Yes, that is what Bphophix told me. I am ok with that.” She beamed her bright smile.

 

“A question I must ask, Bphophix.”

 

“Yes?”

 

“Where will you take these souls now?”

 

“The sprites know of a place called The Celestial Spheres. I made an agreement with a group of them so they can watch over Human souls. In return they get an afterlife along with humanity. I will personally create a realm worthy of going to when we die. Something inspired from old Earth legends. Now I have other things to worry about. Like how humanity will live and function in the living world.”

 

“Good luck, Bphophix. You will need it.” Gotorro smiled as they parted.

A second novel will be coming out by this time next year. Working title is Shadows of the Leviathans.

Plans for 2017

Hey everybody,

I figure now is a good time to chat about 2017 and what will happen next year. To be frank with all of you, I have some ideas on what will and will not happen next year.

New Gods of Mankind 2nd Edition Table-Top RPG is on hold until further notice.

Why?

The market is still too small for Table-top RPGs. There are so many mediocre products out there flooding the marketplace.  I do not feel a kick starter will be successful for a 2nd edition. Also several other companies have ripped off my idea and put out products close to mine, stealing my customer base.

If I see some positive traffic from my marketing efforts I will change my mind.

At one time several thousand people downloaded and loved this product. Now it is just sitting on someone’s hard drive. Some of it is my fault.I should not have hired people I did over the years. I learned a lot about the industry. I know it is filled with crooks as it is very hard to make any money in table top RPGs. See unlike others I actually pay my artist and writers.

I have a lot of love and admiration from the artist community and writers as well. As a boss.

As a fellow writer I think the jury is still out. I know my work is good. But do people have time to actually read my writing? No. Most people just skip it and move on. People already have select authors they love. It is hard to grab people’s attention when so many others do so. Maybe one day an idea, novel or game will stick.

I would love to join someone’s project. But it is also an insider industry filled with who knows who. I am not in the in crowd. I know I can produce quality writing in a proper format.

So what am I going to work on?

Novels based off of New Gods of Mankind.

I think this goes without saying. There is a huge story here that needs to be told. It is a great world with lots of unique ideas. I do not plan to abandon it. I plan to develop the whole series of novels into something great. January will see at least 5 to 10 chapters complete for the second novel.

Card Game Thirsty Patrons.

This is a project dedicated to a friend I met out in the desert. He is slowly degenerating because of a disease. I want to get this project done soon. For him and myself. I need this project to succeed before his illness overcomes him. This is a cool game about two or four patrons in a bar looking to get rid of their rival by Boasts, Insults, Seduction and Intimidation. Ego will be the main stat with Gold Coins being the second stat. People can play Humans, Elves and Dwarves.

Blogging about life and humanity.

I see a weekly blog of at least 1000 words. I plan to keep moving forward with my work on Niume.com I want to build up a good readership and improve my writing style. Expect more writing and I want to make sure my words hit home. I want, no I need to make a difference with all of you.

I might take up arms and get into table-top again. I just do not see any true success there. The top company still is WoTC with a few other companies eeking out an existence underneath. I do want to do what I love, but not just for creating it. I would like to make a profit as well.

Draax, Dragon God of the Boiling Seas Added!

For those of you looking forward to the first novel of New Gods of Mankind, this is a taste of one personality directly influencing the story. Draax is a unique Dragon God to behold. She embodies, ambition, desire in a chaotic package of evil. If you took Emperor Palpatine from #Starwars and added in #Maleficent with a touch of  sedution you would get an idea of who she is.

Update 3 2nd Edition New Gods of Mankind

Greetings fellow gods, heroes and wanderers,

 

Writing for 2nd edition rules is on the way. Before we do the Kickstarter we want a playtest version of the rules ready and tested by a few.

 

I am super stoked to give you a few glimpses into the new ruleset. A few teasers you might say.

 

Complex tasks, LARGE DICE POOLS

 

I put this in caps as I wanted to emphasis this. Our plan is to use d4-d12 for all living, incarnate and worldly encounters. This will be done in large dice pools to reflect scale and size. The 1st edition used small dice pools to resolve military conflicts between two fighting factions. The idea here is to use large dice to reflect the increasing size and complexity of miracles. So if a miracle affects a village and will do multiple things (like bless the people, give them an extra skill and put a fog around the village) then you will add dice into the pool as needed.

 

The idea behind this is complex actions require multiple success checks. In 1st edition and Anointed: Mantle of the Gods we used a single number to complete a single task. The game master will create more complex tasks for gods to solve. This is a game about gods after all. We want players as gods to complete tasks mortal men could not do.

 

Leveling Up

 

Instead of simply gaining more followers and belief 2nd edition will incorporate elements of older games. We plan to introduce levels. Why? Because there will be varying degrees of power in this world. A level 1 god cannot hope to compete with a level 10 god. Right now the cap will be at 10. We might expand this further in the future.

 

How does one level up?

 

This will be a combination of several things. First your current reputation or status will be primary in this. Second will be your amount of followers. Third will be the amount of seasonal belief you gain. There will be yearly and seasonal belief gained. Also each legend complete will give you extra for your seasonal update.

 

You can still gain and lose belief and status from each and every conflict. This can affect your leveling.

 

Focus on Incarnation

 

We want players to be creative when they incarnate into the world. Several ideas for incarnating your god will be in the book. We will allow for custom incarnations as well. This way players do not have to have the same look or body each and every game. There will be limitations but this will allow more character creativity. We want gods to incarnate as beasts, mythical mashups, living trees or whatever suits your fancy.

2nd Edition New Gods of Mankind Campaign Story Sheets

In the old days we just made some characters….

Humanity has progressed and refined processes as we continue our march towards the unknown future. Everything, from our foods, clothing, and shelters has advanced to a point of endless combinations and solutions. We can live safely in a small, solar powered house totally off the grid with printed 3d clothing and synthetic foods made from local vegetation. What a time to be alive. The way we entertain ourselves should evolve as well to reflect our growing consciousness. Table-Top games is no exception.

Storytelling is an ancient art, with table-top RPGs viewed as a modern form. The idea of having multiple authors who are actors take up imaginary arms to slay demons of the imagination is a great way to explore the inner workings of our own human thoughts. Table-top games have evolved to a point where some games need no game master. Everyone takes a turn at narrating the story. Everyone becomes part of the whole collective process of creating a live story.

In this vein of thoughts I present to you, dear reader and gamer, the Campaign Story Sheet. This role-playing aid is not a new idea, but a collection of old ideas into something new for this particular game, New Gods of Mankind.

Within the game of gods and men, players can be overwhelmed by all of the ideas and events happening within a campaign. To collect everything in the beginning is a better way of progressing with each game start updating the sheet.

The Campaign Story Sheet is where every god, hero and tribe is listed along with each ally, foe, resource and legend recorded. Players and Game Master contributes to this list and everyone should have a copy. Each adventure completed will create a legend which will give additional belief a god can use to cast miracles. It is a living document designed to guide players on their campaign and create fond memories of game play.

Currently two pages exist a Names page and a Legends page. These sheets are designed to create a collaborative atmosphere and record events current and in the past for everyone. The campaign story sheet should preclude character creation and be the last document updated after each game.

On the Names sheet every player should put down the god they are playing along with tribe and heroes belonging to the tribe. Major resources for each god should be put down as well. This way there is no argument on what is there. It is up to each player to state what they are contributing. Also each player should have a voice on if every god is part of a pantheon or separate. Location is critical and should be a joint decision.

One unique feature to New Gods of Mankind is the creation of legends. Instead of going on adventures and racking up XP points, players will create legends and gain followers. The more followers you have the more belief you gain each year during your celebration. Every legend you create also gives you belief as it is retold by your tribe each year during the celebrations. So your adventures live on in songs sung by your bards and priests. New Gods of Mankind may incarnate on the physical world but hold the status of god spirits, defined not by mere mortal stats, but by the amount of belief they have and followers who worship them. A god will turn into a mere spirit without followers or belief. Normal spirits do have mind and spirit stats.

In this vein of thought, Gods in New Gods of Mankind 2nd Edition can incarnate into the physical world with supernatural powers, and die. Yet they only lose reputation on death. Gods may reincarnate again so long as they have belief and followers.

Why?

Fate sealed the Demons and Leviathans in the Demon planes. In doing so it had to seal the world of Naalrinnon from the Celestial Heavens and the Spirit World. Now spirits can only enter the world to be born into flesh. This includes gods. All spirits are drawn into the seal to leave the physical world.

On a final note. The Campaign Story Sheet should be created using questions the Game Master puts forth to players and herself. A full list of potential questions a game master should ask will be in New Gods of Mankind 2nd Edition.

Here is a sample of a few so far.

Questions to ask your players as a GM.

  • Do you want to play as gods, heroes or both?
  • Does everybody want to belong to one tribe? Or play several tribes?
  • Do you like Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter?
  • If you had a home, would you place it in the misty mountains, by the turbulent sea, in a tropical forest, a pine needle forest, a frozen tundra, a desert wasteland, on a high rocky plain, in a sea of grass, by a fertile delta, near a well stocked river, in an icy hinterlands, among green hills and running hills, deep in a fertile valley, in well tilled farm fields, in an established city or a small island?
  • If your tribe did something well, would it be Farming, Herding, Hunting, Mining, Nautical, Raiding, Trading, or Engineering?
  • To narrow down the location, would you rather belong to a united larger pantheon of gods, a loose association of gods or to be among yourself and shun outsiders?
  • Do you want to be close to the tropical zones or endure the winter?
  • Would your greatest resource for your tribe be its land, livestock, harvested materials or buildings it created?
  • What type of stories do you like? Quests, Vengeance, Dramatic, Exploration, Mystery, Horror, Battle, Heroic Sacrifice?

This game should be different yet familiar to those to read myths and tales. The idea of playing a god in a table-top game should be UNIQUE not standard. The Campaign Story Sheet is designed to help bring complex elements of a pantheon and god into sharp focus for all players and game master to see.

Spending All The Loot/ Gaining Responsibilities in Role-Playing Games

Responsibility is one of those nouns that sneaks up on you. Your character emerges victorious from the clutches of Amon Ra’s Tomb with a sacred gem. You sell said gem for a fortune. Now the bank gives you a promissory note. Or if you’re lucky, you get stacks upon stacks of gold coins.

Or is it?

 

Often we take on more goods and items during this time period. Fresh from a game we buy a shiny new set of armor. Or better yet, a small wizard’s tower complete with servants, cooks, and a stable with mules.

You just gained all sorts of responsibilities.

 

Every career class, from Assassin to Rat Catcher, Paladin to Murder Hobos… they all buy stuff.

 

We spend countless hours finding the right weapons, making deals with the game master, and figuring out what gems should be invested where.

 

But little if any thought goes into the ‘boring’ part of the game. Taking care of what you gain. All those new responsibilities are there for your character to actually use for their benefit. Servants are great, especially if they are a 12 foot tall Minotaur you defeated in battle, but he needs food too.

 

One can argue that small stuff like this distracts from the main story. It bogs down the story into endless chattering about details which are not important to the fun.

 

I submit that one can turn this into part of the fun.

 

Imagine your wizard tower being under siege by a necromancer who wants revenge on the previous occupant. Unbeknown to you, the necromancer has plotted his revenge for years. You wondered why you got the tower for only a single chest of gold.

 

As the undead horde marches towards the tower where you and your companions rest in the dining hall, you wonder if all this is worth defending?

Even the most vile, backstabbing, greasy, unkempt murder hobo will defend this newfound responsibility. Nobody likes an army of undead marching towards them.

 

This is where the game master (Dungeon Master for you D&D players) must take steps to incorporate fun into the new responsibilities players have.

 

Below are some ideas on how to incorporate loot responsibilites into your game.

 

  1. The Raid: Send orcs to ransack the players’ new keep. Have local authorities, paid off by a wealthy landowner who owned the dungeon the players plundered, seize back the property. Get the players to care about the new house/fortress/tower they purchased.
  2. The Quest: Develop empathy between your players and servants. Set up a scenario where a valued servant becomes ill and needs a rare cure from a far away land. A demonologist put a curse on the new treasure chest filled with gold and now you must find the demonologist to lift the curse.
  3. The Rival: All this newfound wealth has created new enemies for your players. Their elevated status has garnered notice from a wealthy politician. This person might attempt to befriend the party of players only to entrap them somewhere and eliminate a potential threat. Nothing threatens people of power more than others who also have power. Players with newfound wealth that spend it will eventually see someone pay attention.
  4. The Neglect: If players decide to buy a keep and staff it, but neglect it for a year or more will come back to several nasty surprises. The staff might think of themselves as the owners. Or possibly a disease has taken hold, killing everyone within a week. Now the players might contract it.

 

Everyone agrees that the number one rule is for players to enjoy the game. If murdering everything in sight without paying the consequences counts as fun for you, by all means enjoy yourself (as long as you are not doing this for real)!

 

Taking your game to another level involves creating responsibilities and consequences for actions. This is, after all, a simulation. Even if you own your own star ship, the game master and players should understand that some love and care is needed for the upkeep on those hard earned items.

 

More money, more problems, more opportunities to express your creativity. More chances to create a three dimensional game filled with passion and rewards.
